SHERIFF CYBER SECURITY
I was approached by the Sheriff Cyber Security team looking for a quick fix to their WordPress CMS and changes to their website background images in late 2021. The website I was presented with was a bit overwhelming with information, lacking in branding and visual style, not to mention ADA standards. I immediately saw an opportunity to assist with web redesign, branding, SEO, and ADA issues, and the client agreed.
I got right to work drawing on my Wacom tablet and meeting regularly with the client to get a feel for how far I could push the entire concept. I proposed a Western feel and I tried to inject as many quirky headlines as possible to reflect the new humor of the brand voice, coupled with futuristic / sci-fi references at behest of the client, and came up with an animated character to act as the brand mascot.

The combination of space cowboy meets aliens was the motivation behind the Sheriff project. In parallel, I took a complicated server protection software and broke it into visual and bite-size pieces. It never hurts to add a fun cartoon mascot to break up the information.
I tend to be very thorough in my work, but things got into a crunch when the 10+ page website needed to be complete in time for a conference. I also wanted to do a fair amount of website rewriting, and there was a daunting amount of text and images to be updated, but I compromised quality for speed and completed this entire branding and site redesign within a few months.

One of the complicated aspects of the Sheriff software is how many optional secondary products it has. Some products come with others, some are not mutually exclusive, and so on. I tried to polish up copy and construct a visual rhythm of colored sections with icons for breaking down this information.
